Our client is a renowned and well-established hospitality outfit based in Abuja, known for delivering exceptional guest experiences and service excellence. As part of an exciting organizational transformation, the company is undergoing a strategic restructuring and is seeking a Strategic HR Business Partner to lead and align its people strategy with evolving business objectives.
This is a high-impact role for a seasoned HR professional who will work closely with the executive team to develop and implement modern HR practices, systems, and structures that will support long-term growth, talent development, and organizational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a strategic advisor to the leadership team, aligning HR practices with business goals and supporting overall transformation initiatives.
Lead the development and execution of manning plans, manpower planning, and workforce optimization strategies.
Ensure compliance with Nigerian Labour Laws and employment regulations, advising on ER/IR matters and mitigating legal risks.
Manage and oversee compensation and payroll administration, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with internal controls.
Design and implement a robust Learning & Development (L&D) framework that addresses training needs, builds internal capabilities, and supports career progression.
Facilitate and deliver training sessions, workshops, and leadership development programs as needed.
Drive performance management processes and ensure alignment with business goals and a culture of accountability.
Lead HR process automation, leveraging HR software for reporting, analytics, performance tracking, and employee self-service functions.
Collaborate with functional leaders to build a strong employer brand and create a positive employee experience.
Maintain and monitor key HR metrics and KPIs to support data-driven decision-making.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of 10 years progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a strategic HR leadership or HR Business Partner role.
Experience in the hospitality industry or a fast-paced, service-oriented environment will be a strong advantage.
Master’s degree (MSc, MBA) in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
Professional HR certifications such as CIPD, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent are required.
Strong knowledge of Nigerian Labour Law, HR compliance, and employee relations.
Proven experience in compensation, payroll administration, and HR operations.
Strong understanding and experience in Learning & Development (L&D) and training facilitation.
Experience in HR software and systems implementation (e.g., payroll tools, HRIS, performance systems).
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
