We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Learning and Development Manager

Locations: Wuse - Abuja (FCT) & Sabon - Kaduna
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Purpose

  • To design, implement, and manage learning and development strategies that enhance employee capability, performance, and leadership within the mining and steel operations.
  • The role will ensure that training initiatives are aligned with organizational goals, compliance standards, and talent development priorities across the cluster.

Key Responsibilities
Learning Strategy & Planning:

  • Develop and implement annual learning and development plans aligned with business needs and competency frameworks.
  • Conduct training needs analysis (TNA) across the mining and steel business units.
  • Identify skill gaps and recommend appropriate learning interventions.

Training Design & Delivery:

  • Design and deliver technical, behavioral, and leadership training programs (classroom and on-the-job).
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and departmental heads to develop tailored training content.
  • Coordinate with external training vendors and manage partnerships.

Talent & Capability Development:

  • Drive initiatives to build a learning culture that promotes continuous professional development.
  • Support leadership development, succession planning, and career pathing programs.
  • Manage and track employee development plans in collaboration with HR Business Partners.

Performance & Evaluation:

  • Develop and implement systems to measure training effectiveness and return on investment (ROI).
  • Maintain comprehensive training records and generate periodic reports on learning metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with local training regulations, certifications, and safety standards applicable to mining and steel operations.

Learning Technology & Administration:

  • Manage e-learning platforms and promote blended learning solutions.
  • Maintain an annual training calendar for the Abuja cluster.
  • Oversee the training budget and ensure cost-effective delivery.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s Degree is an advantage).
  • Minimum of 7 – 10 years of experience in Learning & Development, preferably within manufacturing, steel, or mining industries.
  • Proven experience in training design, facilitation, and competency management.
  • Certification in learning and development, instructional design, or a related field is an added advantage.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
  • Ability to translate business needs into learning solutions.
  • Data-driven decision-making and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
