Manage and sustain plant operations during shifts in accordance with company guidelines, protocols, and operational plans. Adhere to all protocols and directives related to initiating, terminating, and standard operations of power plant systems. Upkeep all operational records (such as logs, checklists, and running records) as per established guidelines. Support in implementing corrective measures during operational disruptions. Effectively convey the status of all plant equipment, any deviations or disturbances from normal conditions, and other performance metrics to the shift supervisor in charge and fellow team members. Continuously monitor all alarms and parameters of engines and auxiliary systems, track and evaluate trend data related to equipment, and conduct appropriate follow-ups. Observe all safety regulations (including isolation, lockout, and tagout procedures) and execute emergency protocols to safeguard personnel and equipment in case of safety device failures or damages. Handle all tools, equipment, and accessories in a manner that maximizes their operational lifespan. Provide a comprehensive handover to the incoming shift operator, highlighting any operational disturbances, malfunctions, or abnormalities.
Educational background and experience required:
Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering 3-5 years of relevant professional experience Practical working knowledge of gas engines Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities Keen observational skills and eagerness to learn Excellent communication capabilities Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
