Role Summary

The Account Officer is tasked with maintaining precise financial records, processing invoices, monitoring receivables and payables, assisting with payroll, and supporting the overall financial operations of the publishing company. This position demands meticulous attention to detail, integrity, and a robust understanding of accounting principles, with a focus on the unique financial processes associated with publishing, such as royalty payments, book sales tracking, and inventory valuation.

We are seeking to fill the following position:

Key Duties


Keep up-to-date and accurate records of all financial transactions using Accounting software
Track customer payments and follow up on outstanding invoices.
Perform statement reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Monitor book sales across various platforms and channels.
Support the preparation and processing of staff salaries, statutory deductions, and remittances.
Manage deposits and withdrawals, conduct monthly bank reconciliations, and ensure balance accuracy.
Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis efforts.
Collaborate with Inventory and Production Units to ensure precise cost and stock records.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal processes, including tax filing and audit requirements.


Required Qualifications


BSc. or HND in Financial Accounting, Accountancy, or related fields.
Professional certification is considered an advantage.
Minimum Experience: 2 years.
