Job Summary:
The role of the Accountant, Nigeria, is a fully remote position within Lemonade Finance's Finance team. In this role, you should have a demonstrated knowledge of Accounting and IFRS best practices with, at minimum, 2 years relevant experience in the finance industry.
Responsibilities are as follows:
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statement.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audit processes.
Manage tax filings and ensure timely submission of required tax documents.
Participate in month-end and year-end closing activities.
Provide support for special projects and initiatives as required
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or any related discipline.
Professional certification such as ACCA, ICAN or progress towards certification will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in an accounting role at a FinTech or financial institution.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial reporting
Understanding of the local and global financial services industry.
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
