Position Overview


The Accounting Advisor employs professional expertise to address routine accounting entry challenges within a specified scope. This role involves executing monthly accounting closure activities, primarily focusing on lower-risk countries, under the guidance of more experienced personnel.


Key Duties

Evaluation of Non-Standard Transactions

Month-End Financial Closure


Drafts basic post-journal entries with supervision from senior accounting team members
Conducts variance analysis under the direction of more experienced colleagues
Assists in preparing reconciliations with guidance from senior Accounting staff


Operational Tasks


Produce and ensure prompt delivery of customer invoices
Examine new client agreements and verify accurate billing
Invoice newly established services, upgrades, downgrades, and price adjustments
Verify and record recurring invoices
Verify invoice receipt


Financial Disclosures and External Reporting


Contributes to the preparation of additional regional disclosures required for SEC (Securities & Exchange Commission) reporting


Management Reporting


Develops basic month-end management reports within a defined scope
Compiles ad hoc reports as needed
Provides monthly revenue reporting


Stakeholder Collaboration


Engages with upstream data providers, internal and external auditors, and the Global Process Manager to resolve fundamental accounting issues


Process Enhancement


May participate in routine project work when required


Technical Accounting


Applies general accounting principles when processing transactions
Formulates and records accounting entries in the general ledger system
Ensures accuracy of general ledger postings
Performs monthly reconciliation of deferred revenue


Additional responsibilities consistent with the role may be assigned as needed.



Qualifications


A degree in Accounting or a related discipline is mandatory.
1-2 years of relevant experience is desirable
Applicants with ICAN/ACCA certifications will have an advantage
