Employment Information

Our client, a multidisciplinary advisory firm with extensive experience in the Nigerian infrastructure sector, is seeking a Commercial Associate to support the organization's commercial activities. The ideal candidate will conduct market research, manage client relationships, prepare proposals, analyze data, and contribute to the development and execution of business strategies. This role requires a proactive individual with strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Deal Execution and Diligence- Spearhead financial models, market sizing, risk analysis, and data rooms for debt/equity raises, M&A opportunities, and project tenders.
Portfolio Performance- Monitor commercial KPIs (tariff recovery, volume ramp-up, EBITDA vs. case) and initiate corrective action with asset managers.
Contracting and Negotiations- Compose/review term sheets (PPAS, EPC, O&M concession, offtake) and coordinate legal, technical, and tax advisors to support contract negotiations.
Stakeholder Management- Maintain investor, lender, and regulator relationships; prepare Board packs and investment memos.
Growth Scouting- Identify C&I and residential distributed-energy leads for the organization; develop high-level techno-commercial screens and present go / no-go recommendations.
Process Optimization- Create repeatable templates (models, dashboards, checklists) for faster deal cycles and knowledge transfer to analysts.
Mentoring- Guide analysts on modeling discipline, research depth, and presentation clarity.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or related fields.
Advanced Degree (preferred): MBA or Master's in a relevant discipline.
Advanced Excel / financial-model proficiency; familiarity with VBA or Power BI is advantageous.
5 years in project finance, infrastructure advisory, or utility-scale energy development with at least one full deal cycle completed.
Proven track record of coordinating multidisciplinary teams under tight deadlines.
