Overview of the Position
We are in search of a Community & Engagement Specialist to serve as the cornerstone of our ecosystem's human and interactive aspects.
This role demands an extroverted, well-organized, and highly imaginative communicator capable of managing dialogues, cultivating digital communities, coordinating both virtual and in-person events, and expanding reach through strategic interactions. Whether it's orchestrating WhatsApp community flows, hosting online seminars, conducting Instagram Live sessions, or executing real-world activations, you'll be the voice that fosters community around purpose.
This opportunity allows you to work at the forefront of various initiatives spanning business, advocacy, youth development, women's empowerment, and policy. Your success will be gauged by the vibrancy and responsiveness of the PDO audience ecosystem.
Job Expectations
Facilitate and oversee dynamic digital communities (WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Instagram).
Devise and implement audience engagement campaigns across chat platforms, comment sections, and direct messages.
Spearhead or moderate live events, webinars, Instagram Live sessions, or community check-ins.
Conceptualize and execute innovative audience engagement ideas (quizzes, polls, challenges, flash campaigns).
Oversee interactions across all inboxes, providing responses and directing messages appropriately.
Generate leads from specialized tools, events, activations, content creation or hacks - to drive sales conversions
Collaborate with the social media officer and project manager to coordinate campaign launches and real-time feedback.
Establish systems to recruit volunteers, followers, realtors or generally ensure growth across all ecosystem areas.
Fundamental Requirements
Background in managing or moderating online communities or WhatsApp groups.
Familiarity with digital events, marketing engagements, and grassroots activation.
Self-assured communicator — both written and verbal — capable of moderating discussions and managing individuals.
Proficient in tools such as ChatGPT, Google Forms, Meta tools, StreamYard, Eventbrite, and CRM platforms.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to deliver under pressure.
Bonus: Experience as an event MC, community manager, or brand ambassador.
