Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated and meticulous cybersecurity specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will operate independently and as part of a team to ensure our software, hardware, and related components are protected from cyber-attacks.
The job description will include developing security systems, analyzing current systems for vulnerabilities, and handling any or all cyberattacks in an efficient and effective manner.
Candidates should have strong IT skills and a deep understanding of cyber hacker methodology.

Duties and Responsibilities

Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, upgrading security measures for the protection of the organization's data, systems, and networks.
Coordinates and supports the installation of server and desktop technologies. Provides on-call support (24x7) to assist with troubleshooting, escalation, or recovery of failing equipment.
Provisioning and de-provisioning cloud applications for internal and external clients for the premises, private and public clouds.
Knowledge of CI/CD (Gitlab CI, Jenkins, etc), Infrastructure as code (Chef, Juju, Hashicorp suite), Docker, and Kubernetes.
Solid understanding and experience in *nix.
Research best ways to secure company-wide IT infrastructure.
Develop unique, effective security strategies for software systems, networks, data centres, and hardware.
Troubleshooting security and network problems.
Responding to all system and/or network security breaches.
Ensuring that the organization’s data and infrastructure are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls.
Identify cyber attackers, report to upper management, and cooperate with police or other legal forces to detain the perpetrator.
Participating in the change management process.
Testing and identifying network and system vulnerabilities.
Daily administrative tasks, reporting, and communication with the relevant departments in the organization.
Closing off security vulnerability in the case of an attack.
Work independently or as part of a team as needed.

Requirements

Minimum of three years of IT, control systems, and information security experience.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or STEM subject or equivalent work experience preferred.
A solid understanding of security priorities and concepts.
Technical knowledge of mainstream operating systems, complex applications, identity and access management technologies, security information and event management, or endpoint security solutions.
Thorough work ethic and attention to detail.
Skills of perception and QA, ability to identify vulnerabilities and overall issues.
Critical thinking skills, problem-solving aptitude.
Ability to think like a hacker and anticipate hacker moves.
Desire to self-educate on the ever-changing landscape of cyber hacking tactics and remain current with industry trends and evolving threats.
Professional and Academic cybersecurity certification is an advantage.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Ability to communicate security concepts and situations to audiences with varying levels of familiarity with these concepts.
Strong analytical skills to analyze security requirements and relate them to appropriate security controls.
