Employment Information
We are in search of a highly creative and detail-oriented Design Assistant to support our client's design team in developing bridal and occasion collections. This role involves aiding in design execution, material sourcing, fittings, and administrative tasks while ensuring quality control and brand consistency. The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic about fashion, highly organized, and capable of working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Design Support
Aid in researching trends, fabrics, colors, and silhouettes to inspire new collections.
Assist in the creation and development of bridal and occasional wear designs.
Technical Design
Create and update technical sketches and tech packs.
Work together on sample development and communicate design adjustments.
Material Management
Procure fabrics, embellishments, and production materials.
Keep an organized inventory and liaise with suppliers to ensure timely availability of materials.
Fittings and Adjustments
Arrange and participate in design fittings.
Help make necessary adjustments based on fit sessions and feedback.
Administrative Tasks
Keep organized design files and documentation.
Arrange meetings and prepare presentations for client consultations.
Quality Control
Perform quality checks on prototypes and final products to ensure they meet brand standards.
Team Collaboration
Collaborate closely with designers, patternmakers, and production teams to ensure seamless execution of collections.
Content Creation
Assist in curating and developing content for digital platforms to showcase the brand's designs and creative process.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
Extensive knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, and fashion trends.
Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop) is beneficial.
Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Enthusiasm for fashion, creativity, and attention to detail.
