As an Electrical Technician, your role will involve carrying out maintenance and repair of electrical equipment and systems in accordance with APMT standards and local regulations. You will contribute to operational reliability, safety, and asset integrity, while sharing your expertise within a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety & Compliance
Conduct all electrical maintenance in accordance with APMT standards and local legislation.
Manage electrical isolations and lockouts, ensuring adherence to safety procedures.
Engage in safety training and assist with incident investigations as required.
Operational Performance
Oversee and execute daily electrical breakdown and planned maintenance tasks.
Set an example in adhering to safe work systems, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.
Provide expert input for electrical fault diagnosis and repair work.
Strategy & Asset Integrity
Assist Equipment Managers with insights on equipment failure trends and data analysis.
Meticulously record all maintenance and repair activities in the CMMS system.
Collaborate across functions to maintain high equipment availability and cost-efficiency.
Resource & Cost Management
Support the procurement process by identifying technical requirements for spare parts.
Ensure third-party contractors meet APMT's quality and safety standards.
Work collaboratively to optimize maintenance processes and reduce costs.
People & Communication
Share knowledge and mentor colleagues on best practices in electrical systems.
Communicate effectively across departments and with external vendors.
Qualifications & Experience:
Academic qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Recognized local electrical installation/maintenance certification.
Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in a terminal or industrial environment.
Experience with CMMS systems and OEM electrical training is highly desirable.
Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
A safety-first mindset with attention to detail and quality standards.
