Description
The Electromechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, installation, and maintenance of both electrical and mechanical systems within our recycling facilities.
This role demands a versatile engineer proficient in both electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines to ensure the optimal performance of our equipment and processes.
Responsibilities
Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Conduct general maintenance inspections, perform routine electrical maintenance, and respond to faults in electrical systems and machinery to ensure optimal operation.
System Design and Improvement: Design, develop, and implement electro-mechanical systems and processes that enhance recycling operations, including automation systems for sorting and processing materials.
Equipment Specifications: Develop and establish specifications for electrical and mechanical equipment used in the recycling process, ensuring they meet operational requirements.
Process Optimization: Analyze existing processes to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, production staff, and quality assurance teams, to ensure seamless integration of electrical and mechanical systems.
Technical Support: Provide ongoing technical support and training to staff on the operation and maintenance of electro-mechanical systems and equipment.
Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, maintenance logs, and operational procedures, to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Project Management: Plan and manage engineering projects related to the installation and upgrade of recycling equipment, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
Safety Compliance: Ensure that all electrical and mechanical systems comply with safety regulations and standards to maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 4 years experience as an Electrical or Mechanical Engineer or similar role.
Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including PLCs, motors, sensors, and automation.
Proficient in CAD software and other engineering design tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong project management and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Experience in the recycling or waste management industry.
Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
