Job Description

As a gender specialist you will play a key role in promoting gender equality and social inclusion within the organisation.

Responsibilities

Conduct gender analysis and assessments to identify gender disparities, inequalities and opportunities for promoting gender equality within our organisations program and projects.
Collaborate with program teams to integrate gender considerations into project design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
Advocate for gender responsive policies, practices and programming both internally and externally.
Support the collection and analysis of gender-disaggregated data to track progress towards gender equality goals and outcomes.
Facilitate workshops, seminars and learning sessions to promote awareness and understanding of gender issues and promote gender sensitive practices.
Develop and implement gender sensitive monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track progress towards gender equality goals and outcomes.
Provide training, mentorship and capacity-building support to staff, partners and stakeholders on gender equality concepts, principles, tools and methodologies.
Stay up to date with current trends, best practices, and emerging issues in the field of gender equality.
Provide regular reports on gender-related indicators and recommend corrective actions as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Gender Studies / Women's Studies / Sociology / International Development, or a related field required.
Experience working as a Gender Specialist or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of gender equality and women’s rights issues, including in-depth knowledge of gender analysis methodologies, gender mainstreaming, and gender-responsive programming.
Experience heading task teams to deliver client deliverables, including research, assessments, and training.
Proficiency in project management, including the ability to plan, coordinate, and monitor gender-focused initiatives.
Experience presenting technical content or thought stewardship to external audiences, such as through conference presentations, workshops, webinars, white papers, or journal articles required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and collaborative tools such as GSuite and Slack
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and facilitate discussions on sensitive gender topics.
