Our client in the Construction and Real Estate industry is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Head of Civil/Structural Engineering to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects from the ground up. This role is for a dynamic individual with deep technical knowledge in structural design, site supervision, and civil works, alongside strong leadership and project management skills. The ideal candidate will bring a hands-on approach to engineering, lead a multidisciplinary team, and ensure timely, safe, and high-quality project execution.

Summary of Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management 


Lead and supervise the civil/structural engineering team across all projects. 
Mentor junior engineers and ensure team performance aligns with project goals. 


Project Oversight 


Oversee planning, design, and execution of civil and structural engineering projects. 
Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulatory requirements. 


Design Review & Approval 


Approve structural designs, calculations, and drawings. 
Conduct technical reviews and value engineering to optimize project efficiency. 


Coordination & Collaboration 


Liaise with architects, consultants, contractors, and clients. 
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery. 


Quality Assurance & Compliance 


Implement quality control measures and engineering best practices. 
Ensure all work meets legal, environmental, and sustainability standards. 


Budget & Resource Management 


Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and timelines. 
Support cost estimation and risk assessment activities. 


Innovation & Continuous Improvement 


Promote the use of modern engineering tools, software, and methodologies. 
​Lead efforts for continuous process and design improvements


Requirements


8-10 years of relevant experience, with at least 2–3 years in a senior or leadership position. 
Bachelor\'s or master\'s degree in civil or Structural Engineering. 
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 2–3 years in a senior or leadership position. 
Registered with a recognized professional body (e.g., COREN or equivalent). 
Proficiency in structural engineering software (AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD. Pro, ETABS, etc.). 
Strong expertise in building from foundation to finish, including concrete works, reinforcements, and structural detailing. 
Proven track record in managing construction sites and engineering teams. 
Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills. 
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
