We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Head of Procurement to lead and manage the procurement department. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in procurement management, supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, and cost optimization. This role is responsible for driving procurement strategies that align with the organization’s goals, ensuring efficient purchasing processes, and building strong supplier partnerships to support business growth.


Responsibilities

Strategic Procurement Leadership:


Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with the company’s objectives and goals.
Lead procurement planning and forecasting to ensure timely delivery of materials and services at optimal costs.
Identify procurement risks and develop risk mitigation strategies to ensure continuity of supply.


Supplier Relationship and Contract Management:


Identify and evaluate suppliers, manage key supplier relationships, and ensure effective communication to meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
Negotiate supplier contracts, terms, and conditions to secure the best possible outcomes for the company.
Monitor supplier performance, ensuring compliance with contracts and resolving any issues related to quality, delivery, or service.


Cost Optimization & Budget Management:


Oversee the procurement budget and identify opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining the highest standards of quality and service.
Implement cost-effective sourcing strategies and leverage economies of scale through bulk purchasing or long-term contracts.
Track procurement expenditures to ensure budget compliance and identify cost-saving initiatives.

Team Leadership and Development:


Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on results and continuous improvement.
Set clear objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the procurement team and provide regular performance evaluations.
Promote professional development and encourage team members to stay informed of procurement trends and industry best practices.


Compliance, Risk Management, and Sustainability:


Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations.
Integrate sustainability and ethical sourcing practices into procurement processes and supplier selection.
Identify and address potential risks in the supply chain, ensuring mitigation plans are in place to manage supply disruptions or market volatility.


Data Analytics & Process Improvement:


Utilize procurement software and data analytics to enhance procurement decision-making, track supplier performance, and forecast future purchasing needs.
Continuously assess and improve procurement processes to enhance operational efficiency, reduce lead times, and improve the overall procurement experience.


Stakeholder Management:


Collaborate with internal departments such as finance, operations, and production to align procurement activities with company objectives and ensure the availability of resources when needed.
Present procurement performance reports and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.


Market and Industry Knowledge:


Stay informed about market trends, pricing fluctuations, and emerging technologies in procurement and supply chain management.
Build and maintain strong relationships with industry peers, suppliers, and service providers to enhance procurement strategies.


Qualifications


Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
7+ years of experience in logistics, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
Strong understanding of logistics technologies, supply chain management, and warehousing.
Proven experience in managing logistics operations, optimizing supply chain efficiency, and driving cost reduction strategies.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Experience with logistics software, TMS (Transportation Management Systems), WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), and ERP systems.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of international shipping and import/export regulations (if applicable).
