Role Summary:
PVNL is seeking a highly motivated Human Resources Specialist to manage its growing human resource needs. The Human Resource Specialist will be responsible for overseeing and executing various human resource functions to ensure effective human resource management specifically in the area of talent acquisition, management, and development. This crucial role will support in aligning the PVNL’s human resource strategies with its values, mission and strategic objectives, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment that supports employee growth and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition and Recruitment
Develop organizational staffing plans in line with PVNL’s strategic plan and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract and hire top talent.
Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop job descriptions.
Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including advertising, screening, interviewing, and selection.
Ensure PVNL HR processes complies with HR policy, relevant labour laws and regulations during the recruitment process.
HR Management and Employee Relations
Oversee all the PVNL HR administrative tasks such as maintaining employee records, handling payroll and benefits administration, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements related to employment.
Serve as a point of contact for employees, addressing queries, concerns, and work place related issues.
Develop and implement a robust performance management system for PVNL which will include conducting performance reviews and managing performance improvements, providing feedback to employees, and identifying areas for capacity development.
Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes employee perfomance and well-being.
Develop and implement employee recognition and rewards programs. Manage compensation and benefits programs, including salary structures, bonuses, and employee benefits such as health insurance, pension etc. ensuring industry standards are maintained.
Support the senior management team in employee conflict resolution and disciplinary matters, ensuring fair and consistent treatment of all staff.
Provide guidance and support on HR-related matters to managers and employees.
Training and Development
Work closely with all Heads of department to assess training needs of all department staff and develop comprehensive training plans and programs to meet capacity needs of the team.
Coordinate and facilitate various training initiatives, including onboarding and professional development.
Promote a culture of continuous learning & development and growth within the organization.
Desired Qualification Skills and Experience
The desired candidate must possess the following
A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration or any related field, Master’s degree is also preferred with relevant certification in human resource management.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resource management, preferably in a non-profit or development organization.
Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and regulations in Nigeria.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Strong organizational and time management skills
Proficiency in HR information systems and database management or any HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Familiarity with training and development methodologies.
