Main Fuctions
Promote safety within the area of specialty.
Provide expert-level expertise in inspection disciplines such as rotating equipment, instrumentation and electrical equipment, fixed equipment, or Non-Destructive Examination (NDE), including NDE Level III.
Advise on all quality matters related to the procurement and installation of equipment.
Monitor production processes and conduct surveillance activities in manufacturing or fabrication environments.
Coordinate and supervise activities of third-party and/or contractor source inspectors.
Perform quality inspection activities according to Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
Provide guidance to suppliers on quality management; review and assess contractors' and suppliers' quality documents for accuracy and adequacy.
Manage interfaces and coordination among suppliers, contractors, quality supervision, and other project team disciplines (e.g., Engineering, Construction).
Lead the development and execution of a detailed oversight program for critical activities or inspections of critical equipment.
Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), final inspection release activities, review supplier Quality Control documents, and support closure of punch list items.
Keep quality supervision informed of the status of quality issues.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and expertise in quality inspection activities, making judgments and decisions on the technical and physical adequacy of associated equipment and systems.
Provide input to and validate contractors' and suppliers' procedures for inspection and testing/examining components.
Generate, review, and revise operational procedures for inspection and test equipment.
Interface with quality and engineering disciplines to provide inspection and testing expertise in the development and review of drawings, procedures, and project plans.
Support projects by developing method statements and/or recommending examination techniques for equipment inspections; travel to construction and/or fabrication sites as needed to review and provide technical advice for compliance with specified requirements.
Coordinate activities of third-party and contractor inspectors within the discipline, in collaboration with the supplier's Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) team.
Use Quality Management expertise to conduct audits and assessments of contractors' and suppliers' implementation of inspection activities and document deficiencies.
Perform supplementary inspections and verifications in accordance with the requirements of the Inspection and Testing Plan (ITP) and the Project Surveillance Plan(s).
Provide early warnings of potential quality problems and contribute expertise to avoid/resolve them.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Engineering or Science preferred.
Experience in project construction or quality assurance/control of procurement or construction activities.
Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or construction related to project scope.
Recent experience in the selected inspection discipline.
Willing and able to travel for business (domestic and overseas) to project sites to provide various levels of support.
