Job Summary
To Lead the Civil and Structural aspects of Engineering design and Work, and proactively ensure that there are no gaps and that the deliverables comply with COMPANY specifications. Coordinate all interfaces and Civil/Structural related activities, and advise on possible optimization strategies where required.
Main Responsibilities
Review and approve all Civil structural Engineering designs and site preparatory works shop drawings in line with procedures, COMPANY specifications, and standards.
Ensure that the basis of design and specifications for buildings, civil, and structural works are adhered to.
Review and approve all early works drawings, MTOS, and studies.
Analyse the technical proposals by the Engineering contractor and ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
Coordinate the various trades involved in Building Engineering to achieve optimized designs adapted to needs.
Lead all Civil and Structural aspects of the work and coordinate Civil/Structural interfaces with other disciplines/professions; Supervise the preparation of PT slab systems, pocket formers, strands, dead and live anchors, wedge grips, etc.
Follow up fabrication activities on site and in contractors' fabrication yards to ensure compliance with engineering designs.
Supervise surface preparation and block work setting out, laying, and installation on site using pre-established control axes and coordinates on the ground.
Participate in audits for the different project phases.
Supervise site construction activities of Foundation, concrete Pipe Sleepers, and pipe support structures.
Approve Request for Inspection (RFI) on every milestone of construction.
Review and approve route survey or existing right of way to re-establish the beacon points.
Ensure that the Project Statement of Requirements and engineering dossier requirements are met safely while maintaining quality within budget and schedule.
Ensure close interface with Engineering and Construction contractors through Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and commissioning to ensure delivery of Project, tie-in, and Modification.
Ensure the quality of technical work and the technical integrity, constructability, and functionality.
Ensure proper follow-up on Red-line markups and as-built documentation and close-out.
Educational Qualifications & Skills
University Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering equivalent or more.
Professional Experience: 10 years
Experience within projects: 10 years
Thorough knowledge of oil & gas field engineering, design, construction, and installation methods including their practice and procedures.
Familiar with codes, standards, regulations, and practices applicable to the design and construction of offshore structures/production facilities, including; IP, ITU, API, NEG, ISA, ANSI, AGA, NEMA, etc.
Ability to demonstrate oil and gas experience with an emphasis on onshore and offshore engineering design on projects
Knowledge of analytical techniques required for Civil/Structural detailed design
Ability to communicate articulately and persuasively
Ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team, which might include the supervision and management of team members and/or contractors
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to manage a multinational workgroup
Must be self-motivated and able to effectively influence the Project Team and subcontracted personnel.
He/She should possess excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively function in a team environment.
Good interpersonal leadership, Coaching, Communication, and Presentation Skills.
Highly experienced engineer with a sound technical background and expertise.
