Job Summary:
The Learning & Development (L&D) Consultant is responsible for providing expert advice, designing, and delivering high-impact learning and development solutions for clients. Working within a HR consulting firm, the L&D Consultant partners with client organizations to assess their learning needs, develop tailored training programs, and implement strategies that enhance employee performance and organizational effectiveness.
This role requires a deep understanding of L&D best practices, strong client management skills, and the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced consulting environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Needs Assessment:
Engage with clients to understand their business goals, organizational culture, and specific learning needs.
Conduct comprehensive training needs analyses to identify gaps in skills, knowledge, and performance.
Recommend appropriate L&D strategies and interventions to address identified needs.
Program Design & Development:
Design and develop customized training programs and learning interventions that align with client objectives.
Create a variety of learning materials, including e-learning modules, workshop content, and performance support tools.
Leverage adult learning principles and innovative instructional design methodologies to ensure high engagement and retention.
Training Delivery:
Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and seminars for client employees, both in-person and virtually.
Ensure that training delivery is effective, interactive, and aligned with the client's learning objectives.
Adapt training delivery to diverse audiences, tailoring content and style as needed.
Consultancy & Advisory Services:
Provide expert L&D consultancy to clients, helping them to develop and implement long-term learning strategies.
Advise clients on the integration of learning technologies, including Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital learning platforms.
Assist clients in building internal L&D capabilities and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Project Management:
Manage multiple L&D projects simultaneously, ensuring that deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
Coordinate with internal teams, external vendors, and client stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to clients, addressing any issues or challenges promptly.
Evaluation & Impact Assessment:
Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance data.
Measure the return on investment (ROI) of L&D initiatives and provide clients with insights on the impact of training on business outcomes.
Continuously improve training programs based on evaluation results and client feedback.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, Psychology, or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant certifications are advantageous.
3 - 5 years of experience in learning and development, with at least 2 years in a consulting or advisory role.
Strong instructional design and curriculum development skills.
Expertise in adult learning principles and training methodologies.
Excellent facilitation, presentation, and coaching skills.
Proven project management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Strong analytical skills and experience in evaluating L&D programs.
Proficient in using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other e-learning tools.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client management skills.
