Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Machinist to join our aluminium recycling plant.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in machining operations, with a strong understanding of working with aluminum and copper materials.
The Machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to cut metals, and produce precision parts and instruments.
Key Responsibilities
Operation of Machine for cutting of aluminium and copper ingots
Measure cutting of aluminium and copper ingots
Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to produce precision aluminum parts.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files to understand specifications and requirements.
Adjust machine settings to ensure accuracy and precision in production.
Inspect finished parts for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with machinery and equipment.
Collaborate with engineers and other team members to improve production processes and efficiency.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
Document production activities and maintain records of parts produced, machine settings, and maintenance performed.
Qualifications
Minimum of two years of experience as a machinist, preferably in an aluminum or metal recycling environment.
Proficiency in operating lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other machine tools.
Strong understanding of machining principles, techniques, and safety practices.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files.
Excellent attention to detail and precision in work.
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification or technical training in machining or a related field.
Minimum of Higher National Diploma
Experience with operating machines.
Knowledge of aluminum and copper recycling processes and materials.
Work Environment:
The machinist will work in a manufacturing (recycling) environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required to ensure safety.
The role is shift based - Day & night rotated among Team Members.
