Job Description

The Mechanical Engineer will oversee installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems and machinery in our maize milling operations.
This role requires expertise in maize/corn milling processes to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of our production facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment in the maize mill.
Ensure machinery operates efficiently, and safely, and complies with industry standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Implement preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment lifespan.
Collaborate with production teams to optimize milling processes and improve efficiency.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Provide technical support and training to mill operators and maintenance staff.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering within the milling industry, preferably in maize/corn milling.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and machinery used in maize mills.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in using maintenance management software and tools.
