Role Summary:
As a Medical Laboratory Scientist you will perform a variety of laboratory tests and analyses to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases and medical conditions.
Responsibilities:

Perform a wide range of laboratory tests and analyses on patient samples, including blood, urine, tissue, and other bodily fluids, using manual and automated techniques.
Prepare and analyze samples, cultures, and specimens, and interpret test results to provide accurate and timely diagnostic information to healthcare providers.
Maintain laboratory equipment, instruments, and supplies, and ensure compliance with quality control and quality assurance standards.
Document and record test results, observations, and findings accurately and maintain laboratory records and documentation according to regulatory requirements.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, proficiency testing, and continuing education activities to enhance laboratory performance and maintain competency.
Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and pathologists, to coordinate patient care and ensure appropriate testing and interpretation of results.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field from a recognized institution.
Valid license or certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in Nigeria.
Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques, and equipment.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment and prioritize tasks.
