Action Against Hunger is currently looking to fill the role of Mission ICT Expert, who will be responsible to ensure the implementation of the information technology strategy (computing, internet and telecommunications) on the mission.
Position Details
Reporting to: Head of Department Logistics
Proposed start date: September 2024
Work location: Abuja, FCT with frequent travel to the field offices
Key Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with the operating rules of the antivirus, its update on the workstations, its monitoring;
Ensure compliance with ICT standards on workstations (kitlog);
Ensure an analysis of the reports of the antivirus solution and propose technical solutions in order to improve security;
Configure the backups on the workstations and ensure that they are carried out in compliance with the standards and the backup policy;
Ensure that a backup policy validated by the mission and by the ICT referents at HQ is disseminated and applied throughout the mission;
Ensure the maintenance of computers and check daily / monthly that preventive and corrective maintenance tasks have been carried out;
Manage equipment assignments and all related documents;
Monitor the repair and movement of equipment;
Anticipate and identify needs in connection with his/her manager, participate in the development of budgets and place orders;
Report to the hierarchy any problem related to the management of equipment;
Ensure the follow-up of any external service providers (maintenance and repair services, etc.);
Install and maintain the local networks of the mission according to the standards (kitlog);
Check that network equipment is working properly;
Supervise the data backup system (backup policy);
Ensure the capitalization of the technical documentation of the network, the internet connection in order to obtain a detailed mapping;
Propose, validate an access policy (Firewall) and implement it;
Analyze the use of the network infrastructure (Firewall, NAS) and propose technical solutions to improve the situation (security, performance, etc.);
Anticipate and identify needs in connection with his/her manager, participate in the development of budgets (HR, WS, spec, training, ICT and Telecom needs);
Carry out regular field visits;
Ensure the functioning and monitoring of the means of communication on the mission;
Carry out regular tests on the use of these means;
Ensure the follow-up of local telecommunications providers (Internet, fixed and mobile telephony, etc.) and the rationalization of associated costs;
Ensure the technological watch in terms of internet connection and means of telecommunications;
Define a strategy concerning the means of telecommunication adapted to the mission in connection with the other departments (in particular security);
Create and follow the indicators allowing to monitor the means of communication (use, availability, costs, contracts etc.);
Train users in the proper use of ICT resources, the ICT basics and compliance with security rules upon arrival and at regular intervals;
Provide users with training on equipment and applications;
Manage daily technical support requests;
Ensure the capitalization of data and procedures related to the use of computer and network resources and ensure their dissemination;
Troubleshoot common user issues;
Provide software support to users for information and email sharing;
Report the problems encountered and the solutions provided to the manager and team members;
Ensure the identification of training needs, the development of training materials and their organization;
Create and monitor indicators to monitor user satisfaction;
Treat all users in a respectful and fair manner, in accordance with ACF's code of conduct and policies (gender, safeguarding, etc.);
Carry out a monthly inventory and update the equipment list;
Produce an ICT activity report on a monthly basis and send it to its managers (equipment fleet indicators, telecom indicators, user satisfaction indicators);
Propose the implementation of ICT resources improving the work efficiency of users in accordance with the standards;
Organize any donations / recycling in compliance with the standards at the end of the contract;
Propose, validate and ensure the implementation of an ICT strategy;
Develop and monitor the network with partners (NGOs, donors, etc.) at the technical and operational level;
Ensure regular points with report;
Organize recruitment and integration into the team;
Train and provide technical support to team members;
Develop and monitor individual action plans;
Manage schedules, organization and coordinate the distribution of work;
Ensure the evaluations of the team members.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology;
Professional certificate(s) in ICT sector;
Masters Degree in IT related field is an added advantage;
Minimum of 3 - 5 years work experience required;
Work experience in team management;
Significant experience working in similar position;
Capacity to conduct trainings;
Strong verbal, written and communication skills ; approachable, diplomatic, able to maintain confidentiality; able to work effectively in diverse, cross-cultural teams in a complex, multi-site work environment;
Excellent attention to detail, highly organized, rigorous, self-motivated, strong sense of responsibility, ability to work independently;
Capacity for analysis, synthesis and reporting of large amounts of information.
