Job Description
We are looking for a network engineer who will be designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks.
You will also be responsible for maintaining and supporting our growing network infrastructure by being part of a system engineering team that is responsible for designing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs.
Responsibilities
Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation.
Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP.
Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximise network efficiency and security.
Maximising network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
Arranging scheduled upgrades
Investigating faults in the network
Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
Reporting network status to key stakeholders
Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team.
Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
Qualifications / Requirements
A minimum of B.Sc / HND in Computer Engineering/Science with not less than 3 years working experience in relevant field.
Proven hands-on network engineering experience
CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued).
