Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Anesthetist to join our team.
The Nurse Anesthetist will be responsible for administering anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical, diagnostic, or therapeutic procedures, ensuring optimal patient care and safety.
Responsibilities
Ensure adequate stock levels are maintained in the anesthetic rooms at all times and that non-stock requisition orders are dealt with appropriately.
Commit to expanding existing skills and assisting in the planning and implementation of the anesthetic and peri-operative assessment nursing role.
Develop good interpersonal relationships with nursing staff through effective communication and sound management systems.
Ensure optimal use of manpower resources through careful planning and monitoring of off-duty scheduling.
Provide direction to all staff within the department on the proper handling of materials, apparatus, and tools for patient care.
Participate in training programs to achieve personal development and specialization.
Conduct pre- and post-operative education by providing verbal instructions to patients’ families or guardians during the pre-operative period about the surgical experience.
Serve as the communication liaison between the family and members of the operating team.
Interact with patients, families, and visitors in a mature, courteous, and responsible manner to ensure a positive and professional hospital environment.
Perform other duties as assigned by senior leadership.

Requirements
Registration with the National Association of Nurses and Midwifery of Nigeria
Must be licensed to practice as an anesthetic nurse
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Certificate of Nurse Anesthesia Program.
1-3 years experience.
Knowledge of the Microsoft Office package
Outstanding communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and people management skills
Possess a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Knowledge of the Nurse Practice Act
Knowledge of safety and injection control practices.
