Purpose of the Job
TThe primary purpose of this position is to perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures using Portable Digital X-ray (PDX) equipment, ensuring optimal patient care and safety.
The Radiographer will be responsible for preparing patients for procedures, operating radiographic equipment, maintaining accurate records, ensuring safety of the Portable Digital X-rays, and adhering to radiation safety protocols.
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and position patients for X-ray procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
Operate PDX equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images.
Adjust imaging parameters according to specific diagnostic needs.
Maintain accurate records of radiographic procedures and patient information.
Ensure compliance with all radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure risks.
Perform routine maintenance and quality control checks on radiographic equipment.
Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate with technical support for repairs.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.
Support and adhere to the facility's policies and procedures.
Work closely with the State TB and Leprosy Control program (STBLCP) to ensure optimal use of the Portable Digital X-rays for Active TB case finding in Hotspot communities.
Who are we Looking for?
Education:
BSc or B. Rad (Radiography)
Knowledge / Experience:
Valid practicing license from the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN).
Minimum of 1 year of post-qualification experience in a clinical setting.
Proficiency in operating digital radiography equipment.
Strong knowledge of radiation safety and protection protocols.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Familiarity with NGO activities, particularly TB programs, is an added advantage.
Must be flexible with absolute integrity, organizational awareness, and understanding of cultural differences.
Physical fitness to handle the demands of the role, including standing for long periods and moving equipment.
Must possess an Android phone for reporting and communication purposes.
Computer literacy and proficiency with digital equipment.
Ability to manage official information in a confidential manner.
Ability to use multi-task and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
