Job Responsibilities
Accurately dispense prescribed medications to patients, ensuring the correct dosage, strength, and usage instructions in compliance with regulatory standards.
Educate patients on the proper use of medications, potential side effects, interactions, and storage conditions to promote medication adherence and safety.
Evaluate prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and possible drug interactions or contraindications before dispensing.
Monitor, manage, and maintain pharmaceutical inventory, ensuring availability of essential drugs and timely restocking while minimizing expiries and wastage.
Work closely with doctors, nurses, and laboratory scientists to ensure coordinated care, especially in the interpretation of prescriptions and therapeutic recommendations.
Monitor and report adverse drug reactions (ADRs) and ensure accurate record-keeping of dispensed medications, controlled drugs, and patient medication histories.
Job Requirements
Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) from a recognized institution.
Licensed and registered with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
Minimum of 1–3 years post-NYSC experience in a hospital, clinic, or diagnostic center setting.
Good knowledge of clinical pharmacology and drug interactions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High attention to detail and organizational ability.
Familiarity with pharmacy software and digital records management is an added advantage.
Preference will be given to candidates currently residing in Aba and the close environs.
