Overview
The Project Driver will collaborate closely with the Logistics Assistant and State Admin Officer at the Country Office and State office, respectively, to ensure proper vehicle usage in accordance with JHPIEGO's Fleet Policy.
They will also monitor and ensure strict adherence to routine preventative maintenance schedules for vehicles to guarantee reliable transportation of JHPIEGO staff, assets, and other goods.
The QAT must be highly attuned to hardware development, data analysis, and customer needs.
The Quality Officer will monitor customer feedback, warranty reporting, product replacement analysis, and Top Quality issue analysis.
Responsibilities
Vehicle Fleet Management:
Coordinate with the Country Office Logistics Assistant and State Office Admin to recommend and implement measures for safeguarding JHPIEGO's vehicles and equipment, enhancing efficiency and minimizing theft or damage risks.
Ensure prompt attention to vehicle requests.
Process all transportation requests for trips.
Collaborate with Logistics Assistant/State Admin to ensure all journeys and trips (regardless of duration) are recorded using the Vehicle Log Book provided in each vehicle.
Work with Logistics Assistance and State Admin Officer to maintain a folder of Vehicle Log Books for audit purposes.
Ensure JHPIEGO vehicles are consistently clean.
Utilize all vehicle management tools, log sheets, and vehicle checklists to monitor vehicle usage, behavior, and maintenance.
Familiarize with and ensure adherence to policies and guidelines in the Vehicle Usage and Maintenance Manuals.
Verify that all travel planning procedures are followed by staff using JHPIEGO vehicles and that all relevant forms are completed.
Maintain a file for all internal vehicle request forms.
Participate in accurate diagnosis of vehicle faults and recommend repairs.
Ensure procurement procedures/documentation are completed before vehicles are released for repairs by workshops.
Continuously monitor and provide feedback on the service quality of outside garages used by JHPIEGO.
Others
Drive JHPIEGO vehicles when requested.
Required Qualifications
Relevant Diploma, SSCE, or other pertinent educational background combined with relevant professional experience.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position within the INGO sector.
Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines, and intense pressure to perform.
Defensive Driving experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Documented results related to the position's responsibilities.
Strong negotiation skills.
Proficiency in computer use and vehicle software.
Ability to travel at least 25% of work time.
