JOB SUMMARY
The Research & Development Specialist plays a critical role in analyzing data, both internal to the company and occasionally from client engagements.
They contribute to business case development, conduct research, and generate knowledge to inform better decisions.
This role involves reporting clear metrics, optimizing operations, and identifying growth opportunities.
The Specialist collaborates closely with the Chief Strategy Officer and cross-functional teams to extract actionable insights from data and shape strategic initiatives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY
Data Analysis:
Collaborate with the strategy team to transform raw data into actionable insights.
Conduct secondary and primary research, leveraging existing internal data and external sources.
Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, competitive insights, opportunities, and challenges.
Develop quantitative models and perform statistical analysis to inform strategic decisions.
Support external research projects within the Research and Strategy division.
Continuously improve personal effectiveness by adapting to changing priorities and acquiring new knowledge.
Performance Metrics:
Prepare regular reports and dashboards to communicate strategic business objectives' performance to management.
Work with the Strategy specialist to establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs). Scenario
Modeling:
Create and maintain scenario models to evaluate the impact of strategic decisions and external factors on the business.
Competitive Analysis:
Research the competitive landscape, local, and regional market trends. Identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
Provide competitive research findings to the Chief Strategy Officer for informed decision making.
Financial Analysis:
Analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts of competitors and the company.
Assess financial performance indicators.
Collaborate with the Finance team to identify cost optimization and revenue growth opportunities.
Presentations:
Effectively communicate complex data and insights to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Collate data for the Chief Strategy Officer to distill into actionable recommendations.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Management, Economics, or Statistics, or in a related field.
At least 3 years of experience as a data/research, strategy or consulting analyst required, specific to the technology industry. Strong analytical, critical and design skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, data visualization tools e.g. Power BI).
Loves making Research and proficient in the use of Power Point and /or similar presentation tools, using advanced search/research tools.
Ability to learn quickly, prioritize tasks, and efficiently manage time.
