Responsibilities
Check chemical levels and refill chemical containers when empty;
Check water levels and pump operations;
Runs routine laboratory tests every two hours to determine proper chemical treatment;
Control of treatment plant through manual resets to purify and clarify water for human consumption and industrial use
Maintain the PH by making sure that it is of standard
Regulating of metering pump
Carryout plant CIP operations
Inspect and detect when membranes and filters are dirty
Carryout maintenance on the filters (sand and carbon filter) and ensure good and quality water supply for employees' consumption and plant use;
Charging and testing the PH to an acceptable point of 7.0ph
Inspects and detect faulty/malfunctioning pumps for repair or replacement;
Inspect and monitor electrical panel and power voltage
Maintain plant records (documents chemicals administered to water supply on a chemical worksheet log);
Observe and inspect plant quality of raw water and all plant equipment;
Collects water samples and sends/delivers to the lab for testing to determine alkaline, color, and impurities following a required/set standard;
Maintains chemical feed pumps to ensure proper dosage of chemicals;
Ensure daily check on pressure gage to prevent breakdown;
Backwash filters as required;
Monitors panel board and adjusts controls to regulate flow rates, water regulation, and distribution of water.
Repairs and lubricates machines and equipment using hand tools and power tools.
Will assist in minor maintenance of machinery and equipment;
Prepare daily reports on plant operations and controls;
Ensure proper hygiene and housekeeping practices;
Perform all job functions with special attention placed on health, safety, and environmental policies;
Ensure that any exceptions are brought to the attention of the management as necessary to protect the company's interest.
Supervise plant operations, training of new employees, and any other related assigned tasks.
Qualifications:
Proven work experience as a water plant operator
Excellent communication: ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions;
25 - 30 years of age
Ability to work without direct supervision;
Ability to assume responsibility for the complete operation of treatment plants;
Ability to make decisions based on information that can be measured or verified;
Ability to understand principles of water technology;
Ability to detect problems in equipment operations;
Ability to make sound, independent, decisions requiring treatment plant operations;
Ability to maintain good hygiene and housekeeping practices;
Available to work on any shift either day or night, the Water Treatment Plant is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week operation;
Ability to move 40-pound bags and 55-pound buckets of chemicals;
Ability in record keeping and logging of data.
Familiar with Health, Safety & Environmental standards, procedures, and requirements.
