JOB SUMMARY
The School Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative functions of the school. This role includes ensuring that all administrative staff, including janitors, drivers, bus attendants, cooks, and security personnel, perform their duties effectively. The School Manager also ensures the maintenance and proper functioning of school facilities to provide a safe and conducive learning environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative Oversight:
Supervise and manage the daily activities of administrative staff, including janitors, drivers, bus attendants, cooks, and security personnel.
Ensure that all administrative staff understand and perform their roles efficiently and effectively.
Facility Management:
Oversee the maintenance and repair of school facilities, including classrooms, offices, playgrounds, and other infrastructure.
Coordinate with maintenance staff and external contractors for regular upkeep and emergency repairs.
Safety and Security:
Ensure that the school premises are safe and secure for students, staff, and visitors.
Implement and monitor security protocols, including access control, surveillance, and emergency response procedures.
Transportation Management:
Manage the school transportation system, ensuring that drivers and bus attendants adhere to schedules and safety regulations.
Address any issues related to transportation and communicate with parents regarding bus schedules and routes.
Health and Hygiene:
Oversee the cleanliness and sanitation of the school, ensuring that janitorial staff maintain high standards of hygiene.
Ensure that the school kitchen and dining areas are clean and comply with health regulations.
Inventory and Supplies:
Manage the inventory of school supplies and equipment, ensuring that all necessary items are available and in good condition.
Coordinate the procurement of supplies and manage relationships with vendors.
Staff Coordination and Training:
Conduct regular meetings with administrative staff to discuss performance, address issues, and provide training as needed.
Evaluate the performance of administrative staff and provide feedback for improvement.
Communication:
Serve as the point of contact for administrative matters, liaising with teachers, parents, and external agencies as required.
Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure smooth operation of the school's administrative functions.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Education, or a related field.
Proven experience in administrative management, preferably in an educational setting.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
Knowledge of safety and health regulations.
Proficiency in using administrative software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Proximity to Bricks Estate (Republic Layout) Enugu would be an added advantage.
Preferably a female gender for balance.
