Job Description

We are seeking a skilled WordPress and PHP Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of WordPress core functionality, PHP programming, and experience in developing custom Gutenberg blocks.
As a WordPress and PHP Developer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining WordPress websites, developing custom themes and plugins, and creating Gutenberg blocks to enhance the editing experience for users.
You will collaborate with our design and content teams to implement new features and functionalities, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance.

Responsibilities

Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Create custom Gutenberg blocks to extend the functionality of the WordPress editor using React.
Collaborate with design and content teams to implement new features and designs.
Troubleshoot and debug issues related to WordPress websites and plugins.
Optimize WordPress websites for performance, scalability, and security.
Stay up-to-date with the latest WordPress trends, technologies, and best practices.
Provide technical support and guidance to team members and clients.
Conduct code reviews and ensure code quality and standards are maintained.
Customize and extend existing WordPress themes and plugins as needed.
Document technical specifications, processes, and best practices.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Proven experience as a WordPress Developer with strong PHP programming skills.
Experience in developing custom Gutenberg blocks and familiarity with React.js.
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
Solid understanding of WordPress core functionality, themes, and plugins.
Experience with version control systems such as Git.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Attention to detail and a passion for writing clean, efficient code.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with other content management systems such as Drupal or Joomla.
Knowledge of web accessibility standards and best practices.
Familiarity with SEO principles and best practices.
Experience with server management and hosting environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Contributions to the WordPress community, such as plugins or themes published on WordPress.org.
Familiarity with CSS preprocessors such as Sass or LESS.
