Job Purpose
To provide support with correct power capacity dimensioning for any project to be deployed.
Team Development/Leadership

Thoroughly understand and communicate power requirements to appropriate team members and manage all requirements accordingly to realize each for the stakeholder.

Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach: assign accountabilities; set objectives; establish priorities; and monitor and evaluate results.
Provide mentoring to all subordinates.

Ensure all teams are practicing the principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability and visibility.

Operations

Review power audit report for completeness, correctness and query information provided and request supporting evidence where relevant.
Manage power audit analysis and provide recommendations on the power requirements for the site upgrade and to stabilize existing site.
Reviewing of Power related activities in the Roll-out of new facilities by the company to ensure strict adherence to policies and standards
Researching into viable electrical designs, operation and maintenance of power systems that can guarantee the delivery of business goals with less Capex and Opex.
Supporting all proof of concept (POC) for all approved new innovations/solutions that are cost effective and reduce OPEX.
Designing, evaluating and dimensioning of Power systems proposed for deployment at the facilities to ensure compliance to the desired specifications and business needs
Developing electrical equipment operation and maintenance to ensure compliance to the Company’s defined standards, International standards and the expectations of the various government Regulation Agencies
Launch check audit on IHS sites to have a random check on power solutions deployed to sites if they are still utilized optimally.
Provide high level technical support to regional teams and contractors on all power related activities/escalations.
Drive OPEX reduction/optimization by providing best in class power dimensioning analysis and recommendations.
Provide guidance and support to procurement team and installation of power systems which include but not limited to AC and DG generators, ATS, Rectifiers, Alternative energy systems, air conditioners etc.
Liaise with internal stakeholders for support in all power systems related matters necessary for ensuring the company’s goals.
Support other Project Managers in all power related issues required for a smooth close out of the projects.
Develop, keep and update the database for all sites upgraded and for new customers across the regions.
Carry out power audits for root cause analysis on sites experiencing repeated faults and proposing strategies necessary for the correction of such faults.
Conduct random checks on installed power systems at the sites to ensure IHS standards are strictly adhered to.
Develop detailed and complete documentation for every dimension solution or project
Proactively communicate project status, issues & risks to relevant stakeholder as at when due.

General Duties

Promote communication between colleagues for the benefit of information flow and to curb any problems that arise.
Write and submit reports to the Technical Head in all matters relating to Power Dimensioning.
Manage relationships with partners/vendors.
Perform other appropriate duties as requested by Technical Head.

Qualifications

First degree in Telecommunication Engineering or related discipline
Master's degree in an Engineering or related field and/ or an MBA would be advantageous.
Professional certifications such as PMP and PRINCE2 would be advantageous.
8-10 years' cognate experience in telecoms program management
