SUMMARY
The project seeks an experienced retreat facilitator with expertise in people management, team building and development to plan and conduct a retreat for the LEARN to read project staff. Scope of Work – LEARN
With the project decentralization, and as part of our efforts to improving on our employee experience and promote equity, embrace our diversity, and ensure there is inclusion and belonging on the project to
promote effective collaboration and teamwork as we move deep into project implementation also with the team dynamics in the different field offices on the project, there is the need to improve on
communication, collaboration and team spirit. The success of the project lies in the wellbeing and agility of staff to be able to actualize the goals set forth. Team building brings people together and improves on our intra-group communication and collaboration.
The all-staff retreat is proposed to offer staff the opportunity to rub minds and creatively draw up workable plans which will help foster a renewed drive to pursue the values, mission and vision of the organization thus delivering on the expected goal of the project and also cater for the emotional and mental wellbeing of staff through this exercise. The themes for the retreat provided below is taking into account needs from the results of the concluded employee survey (survey report to be provided to facilitator for reference);
Refresher-Organizations Core values, Ethics and Code of Conduct Training- (engagement with partners/stakeholders, doing things the Creative way)
Understanding the concept of Technical Assistance (TA) on the project
Change Management
Cross Team Communication and Collaboration
Communication with direct supervisors/reports
Work life balance (planning work and daily load)
The retreat facilitator will be expected to contribute to the planning and facilitation of a three- day retreat.
REPORTING & SUPERVISION
The Retreat Facilitator reports to the Chief of Party.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Assisting in designing a comprehensive agenda to address the projects retreat objectives.
Facilitate a highly productive and effective 3- day retreat to achieve its stated objectives.
Carry out pre and post retreat survey.
Prepare a final report of the retreat, including decisions made, action items and questions that need further discussion.
Any additional suggestions are welcomed.

An increase in collaboration and team bonding among teams. This promotes creativity and improves staff productivity. Teams that are re-energized and refocus to ensure the success of the project is achieved by leveraging on organizational strengths.
A significant improvement in communication and morale amid adversity and a sustained culture change by pulling together major change efforts and development initiatives and promoting leadership team building and development.
Write a final retreat report and recommendations.

The facilitator will help in establishing the agenda for the retreat and serve as lead for the retreat to ensure objectives are achieved and will also prepare a report that synthesizes results from the retreat.
KEY COMPETENCES, TECHINCAL BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
References and testimonials from past clients within the last 3 years highly required.
Portfolio of key personnel should include degree or equivalent in Social Sciences, Communications, and/or relevant field required.
At least 5 years previous experience in similar role with focus on facilitating meetings or workshops for international donors/NGOs
Evidence of providing public speaking, team building, conflict resolution, leadership development, communication and collaboration skills.
Strong teambuilding skills.
Expertise in designing and implementing wide range of interactive methods to strengthen teams and improve communication in the workplace.
Cultural sensitivity and experience in moderating meetings of culturally diverse INGO’s
Excellent capacity building skills, with demonstrated experience in effective training, coaching and mentoring, employee engagement, learning design and facilitation.
Cognate experience designing and conducting competency assessment and framework development skills
Expertise in Change management/performance management and Human resource management skills
Ability to identify organizational and training needs and the development of strategic plan
Previous work experience with international donors/NGOs a plus.

PAYMENT MODE AND APPLICABLE TAX WITHHOLDING:
Payment will be made upon completion of assignment and submission of final report. LEARN to Read project will deduct applicable withholding tax.
