Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will (but not limited to):
Financial

Drive profitability of the unit, monitoring income generated through Trading, Fee, Dividend, and Foreign Exchange.
Liaise with the Bank's CEO with respect to investing surplus funds in treasury bills, short-term deposits, etc.
Review the status of all outstanding foreign exchange deals and the Bank's exchange position to ensure the Bank's net open position is within the limits set by the Bank and Central Bank of Nigeria.
Review and manage the Bank's liquidity position and interest rates ensuring profitability.
Mitigate overall risk (interest rates & off-balance sheet) ensuring adherence to limits for counterparties, countries, products and mismatches.
Oversee the management of Bank's Bonds Portfolio and Investment Funds.

Relationship/ Stakeholder Management

Review interbank placements borrowings in liaison with the Head, International Services and ensure that they are within the parameters of operations set for the Treasury Group.
Review the Bank's exposure with foreign correspondent banks, monitor the ratings of counter parties and submit recommendations to the CEO.
Review and prepare MIS reports related to treasury and investments required by the Management and by Central Bank of Nigeria.
Maintain relationships with the Bank's corporate customers in collaboration with the Marketing facing Divisional Heads.

Process Management

Develop a Policy & Procedure Manual for Treasury & Investments Operations with adequate controls incorporated.
Oversee operations in the dealing room and all operations within the Group.
Implement measures for enhancing the processes relating to Client Profitability Tracking, FX Trading Systems, post-acquisition monitoring.
Assess, monitor, plan and manage the efficient utilisation of cash and financial services in a manner consistent with the objectives of the Bank.

Compliance

Authorise other groups, units and branches on acceptable deposit and foreign exchange rates. o
Participate in ALCO meetings and oversee implementation of decisions taken by ALCO.

Business Development:

Submit proposals to the Management on launch of new Investment Funds and other Treasury Products & Services.

Requirement

Minimum of fifteen years' experience in a Banking or Financial Institution, ten years of which should have been spent in Treasury and Investment Operations.
Minimum of First Degree in a relevant discipline preferably in Finance/ Investments/ Banking.
Relevant professional certifications and/or a second degree is an added advantage.
